CULTURAL AND CIRCLE DANCE HOLIDAY AT LA MAISON ANGLAISE, TAROUDANT, MOROCCO, running again MARCH 2019. See separate TAROUDANT page, and also the LA MAISON ANGLAISE website. Also running November 2020, details tbc.

SATURDAY MAY 19, 11.00 a.m. - 4.30 p.m., YORK. Day of Circle Dance - Time And Motion. Dances loosely around the theme of time – passage of time, timelessness, the future, ageing, one or two odd time signatures, seasons, nostalgia....Some modern choreographies plus a few traditional dances. Some experience of circle dance, world dance or international folk dance needed.  Bring food for shared lunch; teas provided.

Cost £18 - £26, concessions £12 (self-select according to income. Concessionary rate intended mainly for unwaged on state benefits, and for students. If in doubt, ask me). Please book in advance with £5 deposit - internet banking transfer (email me for bank details and then also to say you have made the transfer), or send a cheque. Deposit non-returnable except at my discretion. Early booking discount of £2 if booked by April 26.

SATURDAY JUNE 9, 11.00 a.m. - 4.45 p.m., SHEFFIELD. Day of Circle Dance - The Natural World; Circle Dances based on various aspects of Nature and the environment. A mix of modern choreographies (including my own) and traditional dances. Some experience of circle dance, world dance or international folk dance needed. Bring food for shared lunch; teas provided.

Cost £17 - £26, concessions £12 (self-select according to income. Conc. rate intended mainly for unwaged on state benefits, and for students. If in doubt, ask me). Venue St. Gabriel's Church Hall, Dobbin Hill, Greystones, Sheffield S11 7JB. The church is at the north end of Dobbin Hill, on west side of road, by the junction with Greystones Rd. Bring food for shared lunch; teas provided (I don't usually bring soyamilk). The old kitchen used to have smallish cups but no mugs - I have not seen what is in the new kitchen yet, so you may still want to bring your own mug

FRIDAY 6 - SUNDAY 8 JULY, 2018. BOB MINNEY, PAUL BOIZOT & JO DENHAM play a whole weekend of live music at Sophia Hatch's Circle Dance residential at ROBIN HOOD'S BAY, NORTH YORKSHIRE. 11.00 a.m. - 4.30 p.m., YORK. Day of Circle Dance - MEDITERRANEAN MIX. Modern choreographies, mostly my own, to music from some of Spain, Greece, Italy, Turkey, France, Israel. Probably one or two Sephardic Jewish songs, maybe something Arabic. Some experience of circle dance, world dance or international folk dance needed.  Bring food for shared lunch; teas provided.

SCARBOROUGH    WORLD DANCE FOR WELL-BEING

Wednesday 1.20 - 3.20 p.m., termtime only, taught by me (Paul Boizot)St. James' Community Art Centre, 24 Seamer Road, Scarborough YO12 4DT, location map here. Restarts April 11, 2018 for 10 weeks. Half-term break May 30 . Last meeting June 20.

Established group but beginners welcome. Traditional dances from E. Europe, Greece, Russia, Israel, Armenia and elsewhere, plus recent choreographies to a variety of music. Some dances are moderately lively, some slow and meditative. No partner needed. Dances for enjoyment, relaxation, mobility and co-ordination - moderate exercise to interesting music. Both men and women are welcome.

Workers Educational Association course. Enrol for term. Fees for 10 weeks £70.00, or FREE if on means-tested state benefits, or Working Tax Credit and income under £15,276.

SHEFFIELD  Circle Dance

Sheffield groups are run privately, so you pay per session on the night and do not have to come every week - though if you are new and only drop in every few weeks you will not repeat many dances often enough to become familiar with them.
