SATURDAY APRIL 29
, 11.00 a.m. - 4.45 p.m., SHEFFIELD. Balkan Circle Dance day. Some experience of circle dance, world dance or international folk dance needed.

SATURDAY MAY 20, 11.00 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. YORK. Day of Circle Dance - Water Wheel. Dances on the theme of water. Modern choreographies (including some of my own) plus some traditional dances. Some experience of circle dance, world dance or international folk dance needed.

Bring food for shared lunch; teas provided.

Cost £18 - £26, concessions £12 (self-select according to income. Concessionary rate intended mainly for unwaged on state benefits, and for students. If in doubt, ask me). Please book in advance with £5 deposit - internet banking transfer (email me for bank details and then also to say you have made the transfer), or send a cheque. Deposit non-returnable except at my discretion. Early booking discount of £2 if booked by April 27.

SATURDAY JULY 8, 11.00 a.m. - 4.45 p.m., SHEFFIELD. Forever Changes - a day of Circle Dances to singer-songwriter/folk/pop/rock music. Mostly English-language songs, maybe with the odd modern foreign piece. Mostly modern choreographies, including some of my own, plus a couple of traditional dances to modern music. Music by some of; Love, Joni Mitchell, K D Lang, Talking Heads, Tina Malia, Neil Young, Robert Wyatt, Gerry Rafferty, Van Morrison, Richard & Mimi Farina, Joan Baez, 801, The Waterboys, and others. Some experience of circle dance, world dance or international folk dance needed.

Bring food for shared lunch; teas provided (I don't usually bring coffee or soyamilk). The kitchen has smallish cups but no mugs, so you may want to bring your own mug.

# SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 30, 2017. "Fruit Salad"- Day of Circle Dance in Sheffield with Dee Voce and Nawal Gadalla. 11am start dancing, so arrive early if you want a drink, to 4.30pm. Dee and Nawal have been teaching in the UK and around the world since 1986. They bring depth and spirituality to the dance, combined with a lightness of touch and good humour. Fruit Salad will be a delightful and varied cocktail of dances, both traditional and modern. This is their first visit to Sheffield to teach, although in the 1990's, they ran a series of weekends at nearby Unstone Grange.

Bring veggie food to share for lunch. *Plus your own mug, plate, bowl and cutlery* - it really saves time, and no single person ends up doing all the washing up! WORLD DANCE; TRADITIONAL AND MODERN CIRCLE DANCES

Beginners welcome. Traditional dances from E. Europe, Greece, Russia, Israel, Armenia and elsewhere, plus recent choreographies to a variety of music. Some dances are moderately lively, some may be slow and meditative. No partner needed. Dances for enjoyment, relaxation, mobility and co-ordination - moderate exercise to interesting music. The balance of traditional versus modern dances may be varied according to the wishes of the class. Both men and women are welcome.

WEA (Workers Educational Association) course. Enrol for term. Fees for 8 weeks £63.00, or FREE if on means-tested state benefits, or Working Tax Credit with income under £15,276.

SHEFFIELD  Circle Dance

Sheffield groups are run privately, so you pay per session on the night and do not have to come every week - though if you are new and only drop in every few weeks you will not repeat many dances often enough to become familiar with them.
