NEW DANCES FOR EASTER
I thought those who had not yet decided whether to attend the teachers' and musicians' gathering may appreciate this list of new dances likely to be introduced there. There is a short description of each dance or piece of music.
BULGARIA/MACEDONIA
Meikari Zarednova - Economical steps with a driving beat
Zener Igretri En - Carefree
Thi Sbiri Znatspis - A village drinking song
Manki Binbag - Old and varied
Izlizi Na Gradinka, Mord - Formal and contained
ISRAEL
Oda Ita - Has absorbed many influences
Ba Bara'an - Exciting a capella vocals
Ror Haid - An old cowherds song
Ba Tau Tavhel (Mit Lof) - Obscure; possible Biblical reference?
GREECE
Sto Pitan Tai Deup - A work song
ARMENIA
Lumbar - Low-down crouching stance
Ribit Ribit - Sacred dance of the ancient frog-cult
TURKEY
Ali Kdugla Siyum - Ancient, slow and stately; i.e. boring
Kila Kommi Ferk Raist - American influence via NATO airbases
BYELORUSSIA
Lida Ovthepak - Racy, but with a sad ending
MODERN CHOREOGRAPHIES
Eternal Peace - Interminably peaceful
Gaia Wants Me For A Sunbeam - Oh so joyful!
Advolvamus Nos Et Te Laudamus Ad Infinitum - Taizé chant;combines aspects of the two
previous dances (25 minute version)
The Bindweed - Once you've got the tune in your head, you can never quite get rid of it
The Parsnip - First in a series of vegetable dances
Theme From "Shaft" - Activating those neglected lower chakras
Return To Sender/Mahler Symphony No.9/Puff The Magic Dragon/Anarchy In The UK
- Misir Lou medley
N.B. For those pedants who notice that this list could not have been available by the Grapevine copy date, I should add that it was actualised via channelling, and verified by dowsing and astrological calculation. In the unlikely event of inaccuracy, this could be due to malign influences acting on the psychic plane, localised negative Earth energies affecting the pendulum, or failure to take into account some minor astrological aspect. And, of course, what matters is not whether the list is "right" or "wrong", but our experience of it.
