EBB AND FLOW - OCEAN TURN AGAIN - MOONSTRUCK - ACROSS THE SEAS (LLONXANA) - TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS

Here are some videos of a few of my more recent Circle Dance choreographies. There are also written notes for each dance in .doc format (should open in your word processor e.g. OpenOffice.org, MS Word). The notes are aimed at Circle Dance teachers, and use a fairly common Circle Dance notation, to which there is also a key. So far I have only put up videos of dances whose music can be bought online, or is available on the Circle Dance network. A comprehensive list of my choreographies, with music sources, can be seen at  DANCE & MUSIC.

Teachers may be able to teach these dances from a combination of the video and notes. But of course I still welcome invitations to come and teach day or longer workshops including some of my recent choreographies, or indeed on other themes including traditional dance. See here for many other workshop themes which I can offer.

None of the videos is full-length, so hopefully there should be no copyright problems with the music as you cannot extract a full-length version of the music from the audio track. Links are given if you want to purchase a legal version of the mp3, where possible. These are usually to Amazon.co.uk - if you buy the music or anything else on Amazon via my links to their site, I will get a commission.

Thanks to Diane Nutt, who filmed the videos.

EBB AND FLOW     16 steps in 4/4 time, slinky Greek music, sung by Eleftheria Arvanitaki.

ACROSS THE SEAS (LLONXANA)  Medium tempo, uplifting energy (well, it is for me!). Music by Llan De Cubel from Galicia. Dance crosses music - if anyone can tell me what time signature(s) it is in, I would like to know!

TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS    Fairly simple dance to the classic Beatles track, but in the version by Phil Collins, which is the only danceable one I found at the right tempo. I really like the version from 801 Live, but am not sure about dancing through the long instrumental at the beginning.

HOW TO SAVE VIDEOS TO YOUR HARD DRIVE

Right-click on the link and select "save link as" (Firefox) or "save target as" (Internet Explorer).

After you have downloaded the file, double-click on it, and it should play in whatever the default media player is on your computer. If you have Windows, Microsoft has given you the Windows Media Player (helps stop you going off and bothering to look at other companies' products....) but that may not play .mov files, so download the .mpg version (the .mpg on this site are not such good quality as the .mov). The .mov format will play in Apple Quick Time, which you will probably have on a Mac or may have got bundled with ITunes. If you want to download a good free media player which will play most common formats including the newer .mp4, I recommend VLC Media Player.
